A small ground cover ranging in height from 6 to 20 inches high and spreading upwards of 2 feet, Calluna prefers moist, organic, sandy soils. Hardy to Zone 4 this plant requires regular maintenance to keep up its great features. Prune in the early spring before the new growth initiates.A fairly long bloomer, flowering from July through September the 1/4 inch flowers arranged in 1 inch to 12 inch long racemes. The flowers range in color from purple to pink.
